The Ukulele Alphabet: Mutineer by Warren Zevon

Letter Z, Week 2
Mutineer” by Warren Zevon

This song has been famously covered by Bob Dylan as well as Amanda Shires and Jason Isbell, and with good reason.

It also feels like the right way to close out 2025 and the Ukulele Alphabet project. Thanks as ever to the beautiful genius of Warren Zevon for this musical meditation.

I’m well aware that this project, and a lot of the stuff I do in my creative life, is not going to float everyone’s boat. But playing and singing floats MY boat, and it’s been a fun ride challenging myself with these weekly songs and their accompanying essays.

If you’ve been along for the journey and found some fun in it too, thanks for being my witness. I’ll always be the mutineer in one way, shape, or form.
