Hey hey hey, it’s our first Double Letter Entry of the Ukulele Alphabet!
It’s not like I give myself a bonus for picking both an artist and a song that start with the Letter of the Week, but it’s just kind of cool when it works out. (But if anyone wants to send me a bonus… I’m not opposed.)
In a dream world, I would have recorded this song while on my roller skates in an homage to the fun and trippy video below. Something about the neon-lit glow of a darkened amusement park reminds me of the many blissful hours I’d spend going around and around the rink at Skateland in my youth beneath the globe lights and the disco ball.
Alas, I’m not putting my expensive and beloved ukuleles at risk. But if you ever want to throw on a wig and do this song at karaoke with me, I’m not opposed to that either!
