The Ukulele Alphabet: Hallelujah by Martin Sexton

Letter H, Week 2
“Hallelujah” by Martin Sexton

You were probably thinking of another, more well-known song titled “Hallelujah” when you first saw the word, but no!

This one’s a Martin Sexton song and if you don’t know it yet… let me add to your enjoyment of the day.

Martin uses a lot of Vegas / casino imagery in his lyrics, so I thought it would be an appropriate one to perform while we were at the TWA Hotel.

In a dream scenario, I’d be singing this as I walked through the red-carpeted hallways dressed in sequins, but that would have required asking the hotel to turn off the oldies that are piped into every public space in the Flight Center.

Maybe if this series takes off (geddit??), they’ll ask me back for a performance.

But for now… I bring you “Hallelujah” from Room 444 of the Saarinen Wing.
